Dockside Entertainment Building and Participant Rules
- Absolutely no alcohol or tabacco including cigarettes, electronic e-cigarettes, vaping, and chewing tabacco allowed on the premises of Dockside Entertainment.
- Secure personal belongings in your car, in locker, or on your personal self; Dockside Entertainment is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
- All customers using personal entertainment devices such as radios, phones, iPads, etc. must use ear/headphones. Amplified music is not allowed, unless permitted by center staff.
- Express permission must be provided by the Center Supervisor, Director of Recreation or Deputy Executive Director of Recreation to conduct filming operations in the center.
- Out of courtesy to others, no photography of any kind is permitted within restrooms.
- Do not take or post photos, videos, or information about other customers on social media without their prior knowledge and consent.
- Report any injuries or equipment issues to staff immediately.
- No selling of goods and services is allowed.
- The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) protects the rights of individuals with disabilities with service animals to use our centers/programs.
- Service animals are only canines.
- Service animals do not have to be identified with a vest or other visible designation.
- Companion, comfort, assistance and/or emotional support animals do not qualify as service animals and are not protected under the ADA, therefore, they are not allowed into Dockside Entertainment.
- The individual must maintain control of their service animal.
- Staff may ask (1) Is this service animal required because of a disability? and (2) what task has the animal been trained to perform?
- Staff may not ask about the individual's disability, for any documentation to prove the animal is on a registry or has been professionally trained, or for the animal to demonstrate the task it has been trained to perform.
- Dockside Entertainment believes that every child has the right to be safe. As professionals who interact with children, Dockside Entertainment complies with North Dakota state requirements. If we suspect, have been informed or witness child abuse or neglect, it will be reported to statewide toll-free Child Abuse & Neglect Reporting Line 1-833-958-3500, between 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Central Time, Monday-Friday. If immediate attention is needed, Dockside Entertainment will report to local law enforcement.
- Equipment available for checkout will be logged with the customer’s account.
- Hygiene
- Customers who are sick or feel ill are encouraged to remain at home to prevent the spread of illness.
- Wash hands before and after using any equipment in the facility.
- Wipe down equipment rentals with disinfectant spray or wipes before and after each use.
- If you have a break in your skin, cover it with a waterproof bandage.
- Unclaimed property will be dealt with by following the Dockside Entertainment policy:
- Unclaimed property that can be identified will be returned to its owner.
- Unclaimed property that appears to pose a sanitary, health or safety hazard will be disposed of.
- Weapons, drugs, illegal substances, or anything prohibited by law will be turned over to the Devils Lake police department.
- After 30 calendar days, unclaimed property will be taken to goodwill or disposed of.
- Abandoned vehicles will be reported to the Devils Lake Sheriff's Department.
Each person using the facility must be checked in before they can enter the recreation area. You can create an account online and enter your username and password or a guest account can be created for you at the check-in desk.
Each person using the facility must have a waiver signed before they can enter the recreation area. The waiver will be valid for one year. If the participant is under the age of 18 a legal guardian must complete the waiver on their behalf. Waivers are available to be signed on our website.
No one under the age of 12 may use the Dockside Entertainment facility unsupervised unless during a special event or program. If under the age of 12 you must be accompanied by a supervisor that is at least 16 years old. A supervisor over the age of 16 may not accompany more than 5 minors under the age of 12 at one time. Documentation of minor’s age may be required by Dockside Entertainment staff before a child is allowed to enter the facility unsupervised. Any child/guardian caught lying about a minor’s age may result in a suspension of using the facility.
Reservations for bowling and simulator bays must be made by a person over the age of 15. For simulator bays, supervision during rental is required for participants under the age of 12. For bowling, supervision during rental is required for participants under the age of 12.
Dockside Entertainment will enforce a strict two strike rule for participants to ensure the security and enjoyment for all guests.
This means that each guest that is checked into Dockside will be tracked, if the participant breaks a rule their account will be updated with a “strike” after two strikes they will be suspended for participating in any event or access to Dockside Entertainment for 30 days.
Once the suspension is completed the strikes will start over and if the participant receives two strikes again they will be suspended for 6 months.
After the second suspension, if the participant receives two strikes for a third time, they will be suspended for one year. Any strikes after that will go to the Park District Board for approval for re-entry.
Strikes include but are not limited to and are up to the decision of Dockside Staff to document and cannot be argued:
- Inappropriate language.
- Fighting or bullying of any kind.
- Using the facility without proper supervision.
- Yelling or screaming after being asked to quiet down.
- Disturbing other guests while they are using the facility (for example running through pickle ball games, cutting off guests on the walking track, interrupting bowling games or simulator bays games, disturbing meetings).
- Inappropriate use of simulators (such as throwing equipment outside the reserved equipment bay, kicking or hanging on screen, inappropriate usage of similar bay computers, not returning checked out equipment).
- Bowling- throwing balls, running across lanes, removing balls from the bowling area, not returning shoes.
- Late pickup from events such as after school programs or other hosted events.
- Indoor playground- pushing, fighting, biting, climbing on areas not allowed.
- Vandalism or destruction of any property or retail equipment within the facility.
- Bringing in and consuming alcohol, tobacco products, or any illegal substances into the building.
The facility will have security camera footage available for reference.
No outside food or beverages will be allowed to be brought into Dockside Entertainment. Water bottles will be allowed but staff reserves the right to check any containers brought into the building. Concessions will be open and vending and beverage machines will also be available if concessions are not open.
No food or beverages (other than water bottles) will be allowed in the following areas:
- On the walking track
- On any sport court area
- On the indoor playground equipment
- On the bowling alley lanes (all food and drink must be kept at bowling alley seating area)
In some instances such as special events, tournaments, and parties, food and beverages will be allowed but must be pre-approved by Dockside Entertainment management Staff.
Dockside Entertainment has a dress code to create a welcoming and inclusive environment, prevent disease transmission and prolong the life of the facility equipment.
Dockside Entertainment reserves the right to restrict the use of any apparel deemed unsafe or inappropriate.
Users may be asked to adjust apparel or risk being asked to leave the facility.
- Non-marking, rubber soled athletic type/sports shoes or sneakers are required on walking track and on all sport court flooring.
- Footwear which may cause damage to flooring is not permitted.
- Full-length short/long sleeved T-shirts or tank tops must be worn at all times.
- Shirts should cover the full chest and back.
- Shorts must be long enough to cover the buttocks and groin while exercising and moving.
- Bottoms must be properly worn on the hips
- Clothing with offensive or profane language, designs, or pictures is not acceptable
- Barefoot is not allowed anywhere in the facility, shoes must be won at all times.
- Sandals, flip-flops and other open toed shoes or backless shoes are not permitted in the pickleball/sport court, walking tracking, or on indoor playground because they can slip off and do not protect from injury.
- Bowling shoes must be worn on the bowling lane floors at all times to not damage the floor.
